La Provence coming to Columbia Tech Center

Popular Portland-area bakery chain La Provence will open a Clark County location next year at the Columbia Tech Center.

The French-style bistro and bakery opened its first location in Lake Oswego, Ore., in 1996, and gradually expanded to five additional locations throughout the Portland metro area, plus one in The Dalles, Ore. The Vancouver location will be the brand’s first foray north of the Columbia River.

The company announced the news last week in a post on the Lake Oswego restaurant’s Facebook page, which states that the new restaurant will be coming next year.

The post does not identify a specific address for the new location, although a comment from the restaurant referenced the intersection of Mill Plain Boulevard and Southeast 177th Avenue. A recent Columbia Tech Center brochure published by commercial real estate company PacTrust shows a building labelled La Provence near that intersection. The building is on the opposite side of a parking lot to the east of Hopworks Urban Brewery Vancouver, which is located at 17707 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd.
