Seton Catholic promoted junior varsity coach Aaron Jenniges to become the Cougars’ new varsity boys basketball coach, athletic director Phil Kent announced Friday.

Jenniges has coached Seton’s JV boys team the past four years, including back-to-back 10-0 Trico League seasons the past two years.

Jenniges replaces Kris Small, who left the program to spend more time with his family, Kent said.

“I would like to thank outgoing coach Kris Small for leading the Cougs to their most successfully four-year stretch in school history,” Kent said.

Seton Catholic reached the 1A district championship game in February and made back-to-back appearances to the state tournament.

Jenniges is a native of Bremen, Indiana and is a graduate of Valparaiso University. He expects to run a full-court pressure defense and an up-tempo style offense, Kent said.
