Letter: President is an embarrassment

Spouting distorted talking points, a recent letter writer jeeringly asked “Can Democrats be embarrassed?” (“Democratic supporters lack logic,” Our Readers’ Views, Feb. 8) Really? This after three years of the most embarrassing excuse for a president we have ever seen? Fawning over dictators, alienating allies, perpetual lies (over 15,000 and counting), taking credit for good others have done and blaming others for his own failures.

A true leader understands the meaning of diplomacy and how to use it. This ill-mannered, belligerent man-child clearly does not. Apparently the phrase “Make America Great Again” actually meant “Make America the Laughingstock of the World,” more divided and polarized than ever.

At this point I don’t care who our next president is so long as they understand that the Presidential Seal is not a crown, the Oval Office chair is not a throne, and the White House is not a private organization to be run at the whims of an erratic individual acting more like a mob boss than a president. Hopefully, one without a Twitter account.

Now we were told evidence and witnesses are unnecessary in a trial because this defendant is innocent despite obvious guilt, apparently because he is a Republican president they spinelessly fear. The word disgusting does not begin to cover it.
