Letter: Trump’s demagoguery on display

The article “Trump unleashes impeachment fury” (Associated Press, Feb. 7) was misleading. Of course, those of us who are repulsed by his demagoguery on full display during the National Prayer Breakfast took little joy in hearing the scene that occurred. What was left out of the article that should have been noted was the standing ovation he received afterward.

That we should find equally appalling. If there is some dissention in the Republican Party than what senators are displaying, one would never know. Time for the spotlight and cameras to turn to the enablers who show full support of the man who woefully proclaimed, “I don’t know if I agree with you,” to Arthur Brooks. He might as well have said he doesn’t agree with the teachings of Jesus Christ! Would they have still applauded their president? Probably, but perhaps they would’ve stayed sitting in their seats.
