Washougal’s Ausmus is state finalist in two events at 3A/2A state gymnastics

Washougal’s Shaela Ausmus qualified for the finals in the bars and vault at the 3A/A state meet in Sammamish.

Ausmus had the fifth-best mark Thursday on the vault with a 9.4 and the sixth-best on bars with a 9.425.

Ausmus, who placed 17th in the all-around,  was the lone local finalist. Columbia River placed seventh out of eight teams.
