Vancouver’s Graham Moody, a golfer at Mountain View High School, advance to the championship match of the 90th Bob Norquist Oregon Junior Amateur on Thursday at OGA Golf Course in Woodburn, Ore.
Moody, the third seed among the Boys Open 14-18 Championship Flight, beat No. 6 Sam Renner of Bend, Ore., 2 and 1 in the quarterfinals, and then beat No. 10 Brody Marconi of Portland 4 and 2 in the semifinals.
In the semifinal, Moody never trailed and lost on just two of the 16 holes played.
The Columbian’s All-Region boys golfer of the year for a third consecutive season will play No. 4 Nicholas Watts of Springfield, Ore., in Friday’s championship with a tee time of 9:50 a.m.
In the girls 12-18 championship bracket semifinals, top seed Jacinda Lee of Camas defeated No. 5 Kate Ly of Portland 5 and 3 to reach Friday’s championship.
Lee will play No. 2 Natalie Yen of West Linn, Ore. They are scheduled to tee off at 9:20 a.m.
In the girls 12-18 first flight bracket semifinals, No. 6 Alyssa Dewey of Ridgefield defeated No. 2 Layla Sidhu of Woodburn, Ore., 2 and 1 to also reach Friday’s championship match.
Dewey will face No. 1 Cassie Kennon of Bandon, Ore., teeing off at 8 a.m.
