A garage fire displaced six people Monday in Vancouver’s Burton Ridge neighborhood, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

The fire was reported at 12:40 p.m. at 10408 N.E. 22nd St., according to a fire department statement. It said crews arrived to find fire coming from under the eaves of a 30-by-40-foot detached garage.

Crews extinguished the bulk of the fire but found it had spread into the attic space above the garage. It took 20 firefighters to bring the blaze under control in about 20 minutes, the department said.

No injuries were reported, but three adults, three children and two dogs were displaced because of the fire. They were receiving assistance from the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office, the department said.
