MEADOW HOMES — CDM Caregiving Services presented its inaugural Symbol of Freedom Award to Royce Pollard for his commitment and dedication to serving the country. The award was presented at CDM’s 10th annual fundraising event, which was virtual this year on Nov. 9. CDM Caregiving Services is an in-home care agency for older adults. Starting with a brief time with the U.S. Merchant Marines, Pollard served in the U.S. Army retiring as a lieutenant colonel after more than 26 years. Pollard worked for more than 20 years in public service, including as mayor of Vancouver. He serves on the board of directors at CDM. CDM centered the event around Veterans Day to “provide an opportunity to recognize and honor our local and national veterans, many of whom are CDM’s clients,” according to a news release. Funds raised from the event were made in honor of Pollard and benefit therapies and programs through CDM’s Living with Dignity program. Learn more at cdmcaregiving.org.
