Letter: Keep Herrera Beutler in Congress

By Pete Bartel, Ridgefield

America is at a time of great division requiring people in Congress to come together for solutions. Raised in Clark County, Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler has proven herself to be that person. Over 10 years she has sponsored or supported numerous successful bipartisan bills and is ranked among the top 15 bipartisan officials in Congress. Her opponent is a recent transplant who has never held a major office, but only taught politics out of a book. This is not the time to learn on the job. We need Jaime’s experience, influence in Congress, and healing touch now more than ever.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
