At least one person died and another victim was pulled from a burning home in Vancouver Tuesday evening, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

The second victim was reported to be unconscious. Firefighters who searched the home for victims reported the ceiling had collapsed.

The fire was reported at 7:15 p.m. at 6901 N.E. 149th Court, a cul-de-sac just north of Fourth Plain Road and east of Ward Road in the Sifton neighborhood. Vancouver Fire Station 4 is just a few hundred yards south of the home.

Five engines and a ladder truck responded, including an engine from Clark County Fire District 3. They were on scene for three hours.

County property records indicate the home is a double-wide manufactured home built in 1996.

A county fire marshal was called to investigate the cause of the blaze.
