Officials with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Vancouver Police Department said their agencies have not provided officers for the protests since earlier this summer, in mid-June.

A Camas man was killed Friday night in Portland when he was walking in the road and was struck by a speeding motorcyclist.

Portland police identified the man as 28-year-old Zachary David Crist.

Two people were killed in a fire Tuesday night in the Sifton area, just outside of Vancouver city limits.

Vancouver fire crews were dispatched at 7:16 p.m. to 6901 N.E. 149th Court for a report of a residential fire with people trapped inside.

Clouds gather over restaurants in Clark County as summer winds down

La Bottega converted its indoor space into a grocery store. The Mighty Bowl started a plant-based burger-and-beer dinner service on the weekend. Tommy O’s at the Camas Hotel opened a walk-up window.

Yet as some Clark County restaurants turn to creative ways to generate revenue during the pandemic, a wave of restaurant closures looms as Phase 2 restrictions linger.
