A man who was reported missing and endangered earlier this week has been located safe, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Samuel A. Stockett, 20, is back with his family, the police department said Friday morning.

On Thursday, police had requested the public’s help in locating Stockett, who has no known ties to the Vancouver area.

He was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run crash with a tractor-trailer at 3:47 a.m. Tuesday. The crash happened on northbound Interstate 5, just north of the Interstate 5 Bridge, police said.

Stockett had been last seen near Vancouver Mall boarding a bus, the department said.
