Union, Heritage, Seton Catholic hire new coaches for softball, soccer

Union, Heritage and Seton Catholic high school have announced recent hires of new coaches for soccer and fastpitch softball.

Union High hired former college coach Mariah Jimenez as its new fastpitch softball coach.

Jimenez is a graduate of Concordia University where she helped the Cavaliers to the 2015 NAIA World Series.

Jimenez, a 2011 graduate of Camas High School, served as an assistant coach at Western Oregon for four seasons.

At Heritage, Allison King has been hired as the girls soccer coach.

King spent the past two seasons coaching the girls team at Prairie High School.

King played college soccer at Brigham Young, and she coached high school soccer previously at East Anchorage, Wilson of Portland and Ridgefield. King also serves as a coach at Bridge City Soccer Academy of Portland.

Over at Seton Catholic, Korey Kier has been named the head coach of the Cougars’ upstart fastpitch softball program. This spring marks the first season Seton will field a softball team.

Since 2014, Kier has been an assistant coach for baseball and football at Columbia River. He worked as an assistant baseball coach at Mount Hood Community College, and he was previously the head coach for baseball at River, LaSalle of Milwaukee, Ore., and Sunset of Beaverton, Ore.
