Prep roundup: Fassillis leads Union to second win in Spokane

Yanni Fassillis had 31 points and 13 rebounds as the Titans beat Central Valley 83-56 on Wednesday for their second straight at the Central Valley Holiday Tournament in Spokane.

Jamison Limbrick had a season-high 17 points and Josiah Baldassare added 13 points for Union (6-3). Bryson Metz had eight points and seven assists.

Boys basketball

CAMAS 72, MISSION BAY (Calif.) 59 — The Papermakers improved to 3-0 at the Torrey Pines Holiday Classic in San Diego, advancing to the championship round in their division.

CANYON SPRINGS (Nev.) 53, R.A. LONG 50 — Maddox Polk hit a 3-pointer with 11 seconds left, helping Canyon Springs of North Las Vegas rally past R.A. Long in a game at Fort Vancouver.

The Lumberjacks got off a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer, but it rimmed out.

Cavin Holden had 17 points to lead R.A. Long, which took a 42-33 lead into the fourth quarter.

KALAMA 70, WOODLAND 65 — Jackson Esary scored 33 points as the Chinooks rode a strong second half to victory.

Dane Huddleston scored 20 points and hit six of Woodland’s 13 3-pointers. Beau Swett added 18 points.

Woodland (4-2) led 34-25 at halftime, but Kalama (4-2) outscored the Beavers 22-12 in the third quarter.

TOUTLE LAKE 67, LA CENTER 49 — Austin Nixon scored 25 points but the Wildcats couldn’t overcome a slow start on the road.

Colby Hylton added 10 points for La Center (2-6), which trailed 15-5 after the first quarter.

Toutle Lake (5-1) pulled away late, outscoring the Wildcats 22-10 in the fourth quarter. Zach Swanson led the Fighting Ducks with 31 points.

Girls basketball

SKYVIEW 41, McNARY (Ore.) 37 — Kiki Parks scored 11 points, Jordan Labrador-Hallett added 1o points and the Storm improved to 2-0 in the Portland Holiday Classic at Grant High.

Charlotte Baker had eight rebounds, including six on the offensive glass, as Skyview improved to 6-1.

WOODLAND 61, CASTLE ROCK 27 — Sydney George and Lucy Sams each scored 10 points to lead a balanced Beavers scoring attack at home.

Emily Hughes had seven points and 20 rebounds for Woodland (3-5). Riley Stading collected seven points and seven steals.
