Letter: Vaccine process will get better

I’m tired of people whining about an inability to get the COVID-19 vaccine. They ought to be thankful that there is a vaccine, that it works and is being administered to millions of Americans every day — less than a year from when we first heard of COVID-19.

It’s a wonder anyone is getting the vaccine considering how badly Trump and his team botched the rollout. They left President Biden with a total mess and, to add insult to injury, they wouldn’t even hand over their “plans” to the incoming administration, likely because they had nothing to share and didn’t want to be exposed any earlier than they were already going to be.

People seem to be awfully unforgiving for the startup hiccups. But it could have been worse. If Trump had won or successfully stolen the election, we’d be in a hell of a mess right now. Many people would be refusing to even sign up to get the shots because they don’t trust Trump.

I would urge everyone to have patience. This is uncharted territory. It will get better. Soon they’ll be begging people (the 40 percent of Americans who say they don’t want the vaccine), to get vaccinated.
