Letter: Punish sedition supporters

By Guy Bennett, Vancouver

I want to thank Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler for not signing onto the objections that led to the invasion of our Capitol. Thank you for standing up for our Constitution.

The senators and representatives that signed onto these objections should not go unpunished. I hope that you are in agreement. All punishment should be on the table for these seditious elected officials, everything from censure to expulsion. Forgiving and forgetting what was done will not lead to a long-term solution of our problems.

There was a Confederate flag flying in our Capitol building that is impossible to remove from my memories. Has Herrera Beutler seen that picture? Does she not feel the same outrage at those who created the climate so this could occur?

I will hold Herrera Beutler to account, as my representative, for not punishing these seditious Congress folks.
