An unidentified man ran across an east Vancouver road Tuesday night and was struck by a pickup truck.

Vancouver police officers were dispatched around 8 p.m. to the intersection of Northeast 112th Avenue and 39th Street for the report of a traffic crash involving injuries.

The man ran across 112th Avenue and was hit by a southbound Ford truck, Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email.

He suffered significant injuries and was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, Kapp said.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.

Traffic Unit officers are continuing to investigate the crash, police said.
