Letter: Nothing is free

In response to Jackie Stone’s comments “Be true to beliefs, if you can” (Our Readers’ Views, March 16): Social Security and Medicare are not free! I, and many others, worked for these benefits. These are not socialist or entitled monies and medical benefits. Also, those on Medicare pay for it; it is not free.

Medicaid and food stamps in truth are paid for by taxpayer money.

Nothing is free. Do your research.
