The swimming pool at Vancouver’s Marshall Community Center will reopen Monday after a nearly four-month closure.

The pool closed to the public on Jan. 30 due to a deteriorating coating that posed a health risk to swimmers. City leaders paid $428,000 to resurface the pool and install a spray-on fiberglass coating.

The pool will be open to Marshall Community Center passholders and registered swim lesson participants starting at 7 a.m. Drop-in, single-day use of the pool remains prohibited under COVID-19 regulations.

“Marshall Pool is a key resource for many people in the community and access to the pool has been greatly missed during the closure,” Center Director Andy Meade said in a media release Tuesday. “The new coating looks fantastic and we look forward to reopening on May 17, just in time for summer recreation programs.”

The Marshall Community Center is located at 1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd.
