Prep highlights: Evergreen bowlers light up the lanes

In one of the highest-scoring bowling matches of the year, Evergreen got past Skyview 2170-2063 on Tuesday at Hazel Dell Lanes.

Evergreen (9-3)  handed Skyview (10-1) its first loss this season.

Evergreen’s Kailee Wilcox was on fire, rolling games of 288, 183 and 242 for a series of 713.

Wilcox wasn’t the only one striking down the pins en masse. There were five games of 200 or more.

Jaelyn Sotelo led Skyview with games of 236, 156 and 203 for a 595 series.

Evergreen’s Alexis Clarke also broke 200, rolling 225 in the first game of a 526 series.

Stars of the day

  • Rose Ugbinada, Fort Vancouver bowling, rolled games of 198, 233 and 172 for a match-high 603 series against R.A. Long.
  • Piper McKibbin, Union softball, went 3 for 4 with two run-scoring hits in a nine-run seventh inning and a three-run homer in the first in the Titans’ 13-3 win over Skyview.
  • Zach Hauser, Battle Ground baseball, pitched a one-hitter, striking out 12 and walking one over seven innings in a 1-0 win over Camas.
  • Alysia Fraly, Prairie, softball, went 4 for 4 with a double and two RBI as the Falcons beat Evergreen 11-1 in five innings.
  • Brinley Jackson, Union girls track and field, won the 100, 200 and 400 meter races in a dual meet against Evergreen.
  • Liv Gruenberg, Battle Ground softball, was 3 for 3 with a three-run home run and a grand slam and finished with eight RBI in an 18-0 win over Camas.
  • Colby Whisenhunt, Heritage baseball, threw a complete game, allowing four hits, two walks and one earned run in a 5-4 win over Kelso.
  • Caden Vire and Parker Harris, Skyview baseball, combined to throw a no-hitter as the Storm beat Union 1-0 to improve to 13-0.
  • Ryan McClintock, Prairie baseball, struck out 10 Mountain View batters with one walk and six hits as the Falcons prevailed 6-2.
