Letter: Congress, build infrastructure

Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler has announced her intention to once again vote against the majority of her constituents (“Herrera Beutler says she’ll vote against $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill,” The Columbian, Sept. 30). The old buzzwords “liberal . . . monstrosity” used to describe a bipartisan effort to address the pressing needs of children, women and men in this district and the nation demonstrate again the entitlement assumed by her and the other Republican carpetbaggers who have paraded through our county stealing lives and taxpayers’ money. It’s time for economic justice, tax reform and term limits.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
