The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected in an attempted robbery Tuesday at the Hazel Dell Walmart.

Deputies were dispatched at 12:24 p.m. to 9000 N.E. Highway 99 for reports of a disturbance with a weapon.

According to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian, callers initially reported an active shooter inside Walmart. Deputies later said someone had displayed a firearm while trying to leave the store with stolen merchandise.

Anyone with information about the man’s identity or the van deputies believe he left in is asked to contact Detective Eric Swenson at eric.swenson@clark.wa.gov and reference case number 21008254.

The van sheriff's deputies believe an attempted robbery suspect left in from the Hazel Dell Walmart on Tuesday afternoon.
