The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying two people deputies say stole a large amount of money Thursday from an ATM at a Hazel Dell bank.

Deputies responded at 12:38 p.m. to the Bank of America at 7407 N.E. Highway 99.

Investigators learned that prior to the robbery, the ATM malfunctioned. While a technician was repairing the ATM, two men drove close to the machine in an unlicensed white Kia sedan, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

One man, wearing a mask and gloves, got out of the car and shoved the technician to the ground before grabbing the cash. The other man waited in the driver’s seat of the Kia, the agency said.

After the man got back inside the car, the pair could be seen driving away north on Interstate 5, the news release states.

Anyone with information about the suspects’ identities should contact Detective Tanya Johnson at tanya.johnson@clark.wa.gov.
