Published: September 24, 2021, 9:39pm

Mistakes cost Castle Rock scoring opportunities and Montesano capitalized on nearly every one for the non-league victory.

Setting the tone early, the Rockets snapped the ball over quarterback Chance Naugle’s head from their own 8 and the Bulldogs recovered in the end zone for a 6-0 lead in the first quarter.

Three interceptions would also lead to Bulldogs touchdown drives. They also got two big TD runs from Isaiah Pierce of 22 and 61 yards in the third quarter.

Castle Rock’s Lane Partridge scored on pass plays of 20 and 55 yards from Chance Naugle, and Landon Gardner had a 2-yard pass reception for a score.
