Ridgefield’s Brayden Malella is the Northwest Personal Training Week 4 prep football player of the week

Malella beats out Mountain View's Kamau

Ridgefield’s Brayden Malella has been elected Northwest Personal Training Week 4 high school football player of the week.

Malella picked up 602 votes to beat out Mountain View’s Akili Kamau for the honor.

Malella,  a sophomore, completed 18 of 22 passes for 309 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Hudson’s Bay.

Winners of the player-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no player may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Here are the other nominees:

JACE GREENWOOD, COLUMBIA-WHITE SALMON: Greenwood rushed 16 times for 190 yards and five touchdowns and passed for 49 yards in win over Fort Vancouver.

AKILI KAMAU, MOUNTAIN VIEW: Kamau rushed 16 times for 131 yards and a touchdown in a win over Heritage.

LADAIMIEN MCCORD, HERITAGE: McCord caught six passes for 120 yards and touchdown and added a 36-yard touchdown run in a loss to Mountain View.

TOBIAS MERRIWEATHER, UNION: Merriweather caught seven passes for 121 yards and one touchdown and returned an interception for a touchdown in a win Chiawana.
