The Clark County Planning Commission will host a virtual work session followed by a public hearing on the county’s Housing Options Study and Action Plan.

The work session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on April 7. The public hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. on April 21.

The proposed study and action plan identifies housing challenges within the unincorporated Vancouver Urban Growth Area and includes recommendations to support a wider range of affordable housing options for a variety of income levels. The strategies are recommendations only and will require action from the Clark County Council to move forward.

While many of the recommendations require a legislative approval process to be put in place, others are administrative and can be implemented by the council immediately.

The work session is an informational session with staff briefing the planning commission in preparation for the hearing. While the public is welcome to attend, there is no opportunity for public comment. Public comment will be allowed at the hearing.

The public hearing will be broadcast live on CVTV Channel 23 and www.cvtv.org. For information and links to the meetings, go to www.clark.wa.gov/pc.

Following the hearing, the planning commission will make recommendations on the plan and possible strategies for the county council to pursue.
