Vancouver’s 41 heritage trees recognized for their beauty, history

Vancouver is not a place devoid of trees containing plentiful intricacies and peculiar stories.

Douglas fir, ponderosa pine, maple and oak trees are few of the many native species scattered among homes and businesses throughout the city. On the surface, the green giants seem one and the same within their genus, but there are dozens that hold a special significance to Vancouver residents.
