Battle Ground Public Schools is seeking volunteers for positions on four committees that will guide and provide input on a variety of student learning and district initiatives. Each committee seeks a diverse array of voices from local businesses, faith organizations, municipal bodies, parents and senior citizens.

The first of these panels — the Citizens Advisory Committee — will be made up of 30-40 community members who will advise the superintendent and school board on school programs and policies. Terms are three years long. The committee meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. the second Thursday of each month from October to May in the Battle Ground High School media center, 300 W. Main St. in Battle Ground.

For more information and details on how to apply online, visit www.battlegroundps.org/citizens-advisory-committee. The deadline is Aug. 25.

The district is also seeking volunteers to serve on three curriculum-adoption committees in the following subject areas: English language arts for kindergarten through eighth grade; social studies for grades five, six and eight; and social emotional learning curricula for kindergarten through eighth grade.

Each curriculum-adoption committee will feature three parent/community members in addition to teachers and administrators. Meetings are held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays between Sept. 13 and April 18, 2023.
