BATTLE GROUND — The city of Battle Ground’s Bricks and Banners program deadline is fast approaching. The program lets those wanting to honor and recognize someone’s military service to purchase either a commemorative brick or military banner.

The bricks will be installed at the Veterans Memorial and banners will be displayed on Main Street. The bricks and banners will be available for purchase until March 1.

Each personalized, commemorative brick honors a U.S. veteran and displays their name, branch of service and dates of service. The bricks are engraved and installed each year in time for Memorial Day. The cost for a personalized brick is $250. Proceeds from sales support the ongoing maintenance of the Battle Ground Veterans Memorial.

Military banners can be purchased to honor veterans, active duty personnel and those who are entering the military with a commitment to serve. Each customized banner features the person’s photo, name, branch of service, rank and years of service. The city will install and display banners along Main Street during the month of May, Military Appreciation Month, through the third week of June. The cost of a customized banner is $150.
