Taxpayers who want the county to rethink the taxable assessed value of their property have until 5 p.m. July 1 to file an early appeal to the Board of Equalization.
A Notice of Value was mailed to each Clark County property owner in June, according to a county news release. Under state law, property owners are entitled to appeal, without charge, the county’s valuation.
Details on the appeal process can be found at www.clark.wa.gov/general-services/board-of-equalization. Property owners wanting to file an appeal can obtain forms on the county website, by calling the board’s office at 564-397-2391, or by emailing BOE@clark.wa.gov.
The appeal form and supporting documentation can be submitted by appointment between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Board of Equalization office at 1300 Franklin St., Suite 650, Vancouver. Documents also can be mailed to Board of Equalization, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666. To be accepted, they must be postmarked no later than July 1. They also can be faxed to 360-397-6162.
