La Center’s Billie Ross is the 2022-23 Week 10 prep athlete of the week

Ross beat out Ridgefield's Lizzy Andrew for the honor

La Center volleyball player Billie Ross is the The Columbian 2022-23 Week 10 high school athlete of the week.

Ross received 636 votes to beat out Lizzy Andrew of Ridgefield for the honor.

Ross averaged 12 kills, nine digs and three aces, leading the Wildcats to an eighth-place finish at state.

The next athlete-of-the-week vote will begin on Monday, Dec. 5.

Here are the other nominees:

LIZZY ANDREW, RIDGEFIELD VOLLEYBALL: Andrew averaged 18 kills, five blocks, four aces and seven digs, leading the Spudders to the 2A district title.

ADDY CASE, SKYVIEW BOWLING: Case bowled games of 232, 198, 231 and 157, leading the Storm to a pair of 2,000-pin wins.

CAMPBELL DERINGER, CAMAS SWIMMING: The senior earned runner-up finishes in the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke at the 4A state meet.

ALIA RUST, COLUMBIA RIVER: The goalkeeper recorded a shutout in the first-round state win over Bellingham and had 10 saves in a quarterfinal win over West Valley-Spokane.
