Van Epps is the commanding general of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division, and is stationed in Portland. Jeremy Simler recently became NW Furniture Bank’s new executive director. Simler has served NW Furniture Bank in various capacities for the past nine years, most recently as its director of development. Simler succeeds Bill Lemke, who announced his retirement.

“Jeremy has been involved with the Furniture Bank since 2013 and is well acquainted with all aspects of our operations. We are pleased that he will provide continuity for the organization as it moves forward and also excited to see what ideas he has for the future,” said Lemke.

Currently, NW Furniture Bank annually serves up to 3,500 individuals, providing furniture to those transitioning into their own homes, between its two locations in Tacoma and Vancouver.
