Clark County Public Works will begin construction Monday on a water quality retrofit project along Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue between Northeast 83rd and 86th streets.

The project includes installation of stormwater treatment basins and vaults to improve water quality in Cougar Creek, and downstream improvements to the stormwater collection and treatment system.

Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue will remain open during construction, but those traveling through the area should expect delays and lane closures. The outer lane and bike lane on southbound Hazel Dell Avenue will be closed for the duration of the project. Watch for flaggers and signs directing traffic through the construction area. Access to local businesses will remain open.

Construction is expected to be complete by late 2023 or early 2024, although construction start and end dates are weather dependent.
