Vancouver Fire Department reports record-breaking number of calls in 2022, hiring successes

The Vancouver Fire Department has been busy fighting both fires and staff vacancies, with a record-breaking number of calls in 2022 forcing the department to ramp up hiring efforts.

On Monday night, Fire Chief Brennan Blue gave an update to the Vancouver City Council regarding the department’s 2022 Annual Report, which gave an overview of the department’s activity last year.
