Clark County wants to hear from those at high-risk of being impacted by climate change.

Community-based organizations working closely with local, historically marginalized populations experiencing climate impacts may apply to serve on the county’s Environmental Justice Coalition. This includes those most harmed by pollution, flooding, extreme heat and wildfire smoke. Clark County will provide contracts up to $10,000 to groups that can deliver equity-centered public engagement activities in their community.

The project timeline is expected to begin in January, with public engagement occurring through the fall. Insight will contribute to the climate element of Clark County’s growth management plan, a 20-year road map extending through 2045.

Applications can be found on Clark County’s Community Planning website. Interested community-based organizations may submit applications by 5 p.m. Dec. 12. on www.clark.wa.gov/community-planning/climate-change-planning.
