Boys basketball: Dez Daniel hits six 3-pointers to lead Evergreen over Heritage

Washougal's Alex Frost also makes six 3-pointers in win over Stevenson

Dez Daniel hit four of his six 3-pointers in the first quarter and CJ Johnson scored all nine of his points in the fourth quarter as the Evergreen boys basketball team pulled away to beat Heritage 79-69 in a 3A Greater St. Helens League on Friday.

After the game was tied 37-37 at halftime, Damarien Walden scored nine points in the third quarter to help Evergreen open a 60-52 lead.

Daniel finished with 24 points to lead the Plainsmen. Walden added 19 poits and Kai Speer had 14.

Jayce Gallant led Heritage with 21 points, Brooks Greenwald had 16 points, and Delorian Holmes added 13.

WASHOUGAL 65, STEVENSON 56 — Alex Frost hit three of his six 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to help Washougal pull away for a non-league road win.

Frost was 6 for 11 from 3-point range and finished with 20 points for the Panthers, who led 52-48 after three quarters. Mather Minnis scored 12 points for the Panthers, and Holden Bea added 11.

Chris Blackedge led Stevenson with 23 points with five 3-pointers, five assists and five rebounds. Kacen Bach added 18 points and nine rebounds.

MT. SPOKANE 83, CAMAS 62 — Ethan Harris scored 19 points, but the Papermakers fell behind early and could not dig themselves out of the hole.

Mt. Spokane took a 24-11 lead after the first quarter and extended its lead to 42-19 by halftime.

KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN 51, MOUNTAIN VIEW 46 — Jaydon Hall scored 22 points as King’s Way Christian outscored Mountain View 21-9 in the fourth quarter to rally past the Thunder.
