The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes recently announced Angel Reyes has been appointed to its board of directors. As Keybank’s corporate responsibility officer for their Oregon/Southwest Washington and Idaho markets, Reyes oversees the philanthropic budget and investment strategies to meet community needs. He also holds a pivotal role as the national chair for KeyBank’s Hispanic-Latinx Key Business Impact and Networking Group, which helps create an inclusive and stronger workplace for all.

Reyes hopes to provide representation for the Hispanic/Latino community, as well as increased access to the visually impaired community. Reyes is looking forward to participating in future NWABA program events such as kayaking and weightlifting.

The State of Washington Tourism recently announced the winners of its tourism awards at the annual State of Washington Tourism Conference in Yakima. The award for Rising Star in Tourism was presented to Shara Howard, communications manager at Visit Vancouver. The award is presented to a industry professional or volunteer who has made outstanding contributions to the tourism efforts of a business, nonprofit organization, community or tourism business segment. Nominees must have tenures in tourism of 5 years or less. Howard was recognized for advancing her organization’s communications and outreach and improving its social media platforms.
