Girls basketball roundup: Union improves to 8-0 with rout of Bethel

Brooklynn Haywood scored 25 points as Union girls basketball improved to 8-0 with a 64-21 road rout of Bethel on Tuesday.

Carli Christensen scored 14 points and hit four of Union’s 11 3-pointers.

Ava Smith added 10 points for Union, which led 15-2 after the first quarter in Spanaway.

CAMAS 77, TIGARD (Ore.) 22 — Kierra Thompson had 15 points and eight assists as the Papermakers improved to 2-0 at the Lakeridge Holiday Classic in Lake Oswego, Ore.

Riley Sanz scored 14 points and Raegan Jamison added 12 points as Camas (7-2) dominated for a second straight game. The Papermakers held Tigard to 24% from the field and have outscored two Oregon opponents 146-45.

SKYVIEW 73, HERITAGE 26 — The Storm cleaned up on the glass and moved the ball well to get the non-league win over visiting Heritage.

Charlotte Baker led Skyview in scoring with 14 points plus had nine rebounds. Lainey Phillips had 12 points and nine boards, and Brooke Riley had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Jaeley Dean was key in moving the ball with nine assists and eight steals to go with four points. Kiera Parks had six steals, and Cameron Watson five assists.

Heritage was led in scoring by Jaila Ellis with 11 points.

SETON CATHOLIC 51, VALLEY CATHOLIC (Ore.) 58 — The Cougars outscored their opponents from Beaverton 18-7 in the fourth quarter to pull away for a non-league home win.

Remy Jenniges scored 13 points to lead three Seton scorers in double figures. Riley Seymer scored 11 points and Naomi Jackson added 10 points as the Cougars improved to 3-4.
