Boys roundup: Balanced attack leads Camas past Hermiston

Beckett Currie scored 19 points to lead four Camas scorers in double figures in a 82-59 boys basketball win over Hermiston, Ore., on Wednesday.

Ethan Harris and Nyima Namru each added 13 points for the Papermakers, who improved to 6-5 with the non-league home win. Harris scored nine points in the first quarter as Camas raced to a 22-11 lead.

Matthew Sitler scored 11 points and Jace Vanvoorhis added nine points, including two 3-pointers in the second quarter as Camas took a 43-24 lead into halftime.

LIFE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 73, EVERGREEN 68, OT — Arthur Ban scored 21 points but the Plainsmen fell short in overtime at the T-Town Throwdown in Tacoma.

Ban scored five of Evergreen’s six points in overtime.

Landon Rayner scored 15 points and Dez Daniel added 13 points for Evergreen (5-4).

Life Christian Academy of Tacoma trailed 20-10 after the first quarter. Darius Imperial scored 20 points, including six points in overtime.

SUMNER 61, RIDGEFIELD 43 — Cole Chester scored 12 points as the Spudders opened play at the Cactus Jam with a loss.

Sumner (7-1) led 20-11 after the first quarter. Ridgefield (5-3) pulled within 28-22 at halftime, but the Spartans pulled away in the second half.

Cooper Hartley scored 15 points and made three of Sumner’s 10 3-pointers.

The Spudders continue play at the Phoenix tournament Thursday against Bainbridge.
