Clark County Public Works will begin construction of a new picnic shelter in the Klineline Pond area of Salmon Creek Regional Park in January.

The new shelter will replace the former Pondview Shelter that was damaged during a winter storm. The new shelter is expected to open later this spring.

During construction, the Klineline Pond area of the park will remain open. However, areas near the construction site, including the walking path, may be closed to the public. Access to the existing Creekside picnic shelter will also remain open.

During the second week of January, the bridge to the Klineline Pond area of the park will close for a half-day to allow the contractor to move materials to the project site. The exact closure date is to be determined based on delivery of materials. The date of closure will be posted on signage at the park and on the Public Works website at https://clark.wa.gov/public-works as soon as available.

Visitors are reminded to be alert for construction traffic and never enter areas closed off by barricades, signs, cones, tape or other barriers.

Updates to the construction timeline and impacts will be posted on Public Works’ social media profiles and the county website.
