Letter: Support Vancouver school levy

By Z. Chaise Kirkpatrick, VANCOUVER
Published: February 1, 2023, 6:00am

The anti-Prop. 6 campaign uses tired propaganda techniques on gaudy signs, because they have no argument. They want to starve our schools of funding while decrying them for scaling back programs that cost money, because their real argument is against equity; not for students.

One of our children didn’t qualify for an Individualized Education Program in Beaverton, Ore. She couldn’t read. Within two years in Vancouver Public Schools she was at grade level. We know the difference between districts that use their funding for the betterment of the student body, and those that don’t.

We’ll vote for our students, and hope you do too.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
