2A, 1A wrestling: Washougal, Castle Rock earn boys wrestling league titles

Three Washougal wrestlers captured league titles to lead the Panthers to the team title at the 2A Greater St. Helens League boys wrestling championships Saturday at Hockinson.

Wrestlers were competing for spots in next weekend’s 2A regional in Aberdeen.

Brody Davis (113 pounds), Ryan Langston (160) and Isaac Gill (170) won league titles for Washougal, which scored 297.5 points to outdistance second-place Columbia River (239.5).

River got titles from Aidan Deeney (106), Tennyson Kurtz (145), Gage Newman (152) and Diego Carrion (285).

Other champions were Ridgefield’s Lance Draper (120), Mason Townsend (126) and Cota Stover (195), Woodland’s Mason Rickard (138) and Logan Busig (220), Hockinson’s Jacob McKee (132) and Joey Cantrell (182) of Hudson’s Bay.

Castle Rock wins Trico championship — Castle Rock won five individual titles to lead the Rockets to the team title at the Trico League meet in Stevenson.

Skylar Ammons (106 pounds), Landon Fulton (113), Cooper Williams (120), Ian Burton (145) and Stephen Ibsen (160) won titles as Castle Rock scored 311 points to outdistance La Center (179.5).

La Center got titles from Aidan Watson (126), Isaac Chromey (152), Wyatt Eiesland (170) and Lane Roberts (220).

Other champions were Stevenson’s Solomon Mahoney (132), King’s Way Christian’s Ashton Baker (138), Columbia-White Salmon’s Sawyer Muehlbauer (170) and Matthias Posini (285) and Seton Catholic’s Olin Hill (195).

The 1A regional will be held next Saturday at Castle Rock.
