Trader Joe’s is set to anchor the under-construction Skyview Station in Salmon Creek, or so says the realty firm leasing out space at the retail center.

Rumor of the California-based grocery store being part of the development has been circulating for quite some time. But it was confirmed only with the publication of a leasing pamphlet from Commercial Realty Advisors Northwest LLC.

Skyview Station, a project of Vancouver-based Hurley Development, will open at the intersection of Northeast 10th Avenue and 139th Street.

The pamphlet showed that Chase Bank, Chipotle Mexican Grill and MOD Pizza are also expected to open up shop there. The realty firm is still looking to fill additional anchor, restaurant and retail space, up to 25,000 square feet, in the development, according to the pamphlet.

Neither Commercial Realty Advisors Northwest LLC nor Hurley Development immediately responded to requests asking when the development is expected to be completed and if the shops mentioned in the pamphlet are certain.

A spokeswoman for Trader Joe’s said the grocer considers many locations and that all locations opening soon are listed on its website.

“Unfortunately, Salmon Creek is not on the list at this time,” Nakia Rohde, public relations manager for Trader Joe’s, told The Columbian.

The company typically announces new stores a few months before they open, she said.

Clark County is home to only one Trader Joe’s, in Vancouver’s Cascade Park neighborhood, and it is constantly busy.

In 2020, Hurley president Ryan Hurley told The Columbian he was drawn to the site partially because of its location at the intersection of Interstates 5 and 205. He also said it was an opportunity to bring more retail to the Salmon Creek and Felida areas.

Initially, Hurley expected the development to open in 2021, but it appeared to stall during the COVID-19 pandemic.
