Letter: Crack down on plateless vehicles

By Wes Cartwright, Vancouver
Published: February 20, 2023, 6:00am

Over the last two years I have noticed an increasing number of cars and trucks on our roads and highways missing license plates (with no temp permit in window). I know our law enforcement has been struggling to keep up, and I am grateful for the recent reappearance of the occasional Washington State Patrol vehicle our freeways. But my biggest concern comes when one of us is involved in a traffic accident with a vehicle missing a plate and they run from the scene, what are we supposed to do? We need to see our law enforcement teams pushing back against these scofflaws for those of us who abide by the law.
