Regardless how Mr. Kerr feels about President Joe Biden (“Democrats can’t be trusted,” Our Readers’ Views, Feb. 14), Republicans have a history of wanting to gut Social Security and other programs that help average Americans. Recently, Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah was recorded saying one of his goals is to eliminate Social Security and Medicare. I don’t think the Democrats are lying about these programs relative to what Republicans want.
