Clark County is seeking public input on a draft Vancouver Lake Management Plan. The goal of the plan is to restore and maintain the health of Vancouver Lake.

The draft plan and instructions on providing comments are at https://clark.wa.gov/councilors/vancouver-lake-management-plan-project. The website also has background information including a link to webinar materials that provide a high-level overview of the project.

The county hired Herrera Environmental Consultants to develop an adaptive Vancouver Lake Management Plan for immediate action to manage harmful algae blooms and aquatic noxious weeds. The draft adaptive plan also provides a structure for future decisions and actions to address other lake issues.

Public comments will be reviewed and included in an appendix to the final management plan. The deadline for submitting comments is 5 p.m. July 26.

The county council will also hold a public work session on the draft plan at 9 a.m. July 19. The work session will be held in a hybrid format to allow attendance in person or remotely via the WebEx platform. The meeting will be held in the sixth-floor hearing room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. in Vancouver. Attendees will be allowed three minutes of public comment at the work session.

For meeting information including an agenda and links to attend, go to https://clark.wa.gov/councilors/clark-county-council-meetings.
