Some of Country Malt Group’s Vancouver staff were honored recently with a Craft Beer Marketing Award for best beer-related podcast.

The company, which distributes brewing and distilling supplies and ingredients across the United States, launched its podcast a few years ago.

“We started The BrewDeck Podcast in August 2020 as a way to connect listeners with their favorite brewers, distillers, and suppliers across the globe during the pandemic,” said Hailey Nelson, Vancouver-based marketing campaign manager at Country Malt Group. “Since then, it’s become so much bigger than a podcast. We’re building and connecting a community of industry experts to share their stories, advice and resources.”

Country Malt Group operates 13 distribution centers around the U.S., including one in Vancouver. Also in Vancouver are the company’s Great Western Malting facility and its United Malt headquarters.

Nelson went on to say the company is committed to using its podcast platform to “include and uplift the diverse voices of our industry.”

The BrewDeck Podcast took home a coveted Gold Crushie from the awards show. Entrants have their work critiqued by more than 600 industry professionals from around the globe.

According to Craft Beer Marketing Award team, the award show is the only one of its kind in the world that focuses on the creative side of marketing and advertising in the craft beer industry.

“The ‘Best Beer Podcast’ Crushie Award signifies excellence in the brewing industry, and we’re so grateful for our guests and listeners for helping make this achievement possible,” said Nelson.

The awards show started in 2019 to recognize the best marketing and advertising designs in the industry, giving out awards like coolest taproom, best can design and best original video.

The BrewDeck Podcast is managed and produced by Nelson and her hosts: Toby Tucker, Heather Jerred, Cheyenne Weishaar and Adam Wilson.
