Clark County is seeking public comment on updates to its Aging Readiness Plan identified by the Commission on Aging. The plan, which was approved in 2012, assesses the county’s readiness to serve as a home for a growing number of older residents.

The update includes new data and maps and incorporates new technologies and services. The plan update also adds a new health and safety chapter, focusing on emergency preparedness, a topic that is not currently covered in the existing plan.

The public is invited to review and provide feedback on the updated Aging Readiness Plan. The deadline to submit comments is 5 p.m. July 26. For instructions go to https://bit.ly/agingreadiness.

At its July 19 meeting, the commission will hear a final report from Dudek consultants regarding updates to the plan. The commission will then consider whether to recommend approval to the county planning commission and county council.

Commission meetings are currently held in a hybrid format in the sixth-floor hearing room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. in Vancouver. For more information go to https://clark.wa.gov/community-planning/commission-aging-meetings.
