Letter: Slow traffic on Mill Plain

By Thomas Graham, Vancouver
Published: July 25, 2023, 6:00am

I lived off Mill Plain Boulevard for many years and watched the traffic go mainly unchecked. The drivers on this street now use it as a drag strip, ignoring the speed limits, loud exhausts, racing, burning rubber and loud radios. Is there not enough police to have this problem taken care of? It seems that the police only have time to stop and ticket only those of convenience.

The speed limit on Mill Plain is 35 mph. It seems that no one knows how to drive at that speed. It won’t be long before someone gets killed from lack of enforcement. I imagine that this letter will get as much attention as a call I made a few weeks ago, round file it and ignore the problem. That’s my venting for today.
