The Ridgefield Raptors had their game with the Cowlitz Black Bears postponed Sunday because of rain.

The Raptors said that any ticket purchased for Sunday’s game at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Center can be redeemed for any future Raptors home game this season.

A heavy rainfall started shortly before the 1 p.m. first-pitch. Cowlitz scored two runs in the top of the first inning on a throwing error, two walks and two hit batsmen.

The two teams played on through a persistent rain until the top of the second inning when play was stopped after Ridgefield pitcher Sawyer Parkin threw three pitches to the backstop and complained about being able to grip the wet ball.

After a 25-minute rain delay, the game was called.

The Raptors begin a six-game road trip on Tuesday when they open a three-game series at Yakima Valley.

Ridgefield will return home to the RORC on June 27 to host the Bend Elks.
